Coast Shelter Youth Week Event empowering young people of the Central Coast.
On Thursday 18th April, Coast Shelter hosted a free music and entertainment event at The Hive at Erina Fair from 3pm to 7pm as part of NSW Youth Week 2024.
The event boasted live music from young people, delicious and free food and over 15 stalls from local support services.
Coast Shelter Regional Youth Services Manager, Miriam O’Shea, says the event has grown significantly and is now positively impacting more youth on the Central Coast.
“Coast Shelter is passionate about advocating for young people as this is a pivotal time to support them as they navigate their way into adulthood.”
“Early intervention, mentorship and education have the proven ability to make lifelong positive impacts on a young person’s life.”
“Coast Shelter hosts this event each year to show young people that we are here for them. It is a fantastic opportunity for youth to express their needs and to get involved in the development of community programs.”
Coast Shelter CEO, Lee Shearer, highlighted the importance of having local services as stallholders at the event.
“It allows Coast Shelter to collaborate with other youth services so that we can offer wrap around support and provide young people with the opportunities they need to succeed.”
NSW Youth Week 2024 takes place from 11 to 21 April and is an opportunity for young people to attend live events, have their voices heard, showcase their talents, and have fun.
Youth Week began as an NSW Government initiative in 1989 and has since grown to be a celebration of young people in every state and territory across the country.
