Coast Shelter thrives because of our extraordinary volunteers—compassionate community members who dedicate their time and talents to making a difference. These everyday heroes are the heartbeat of our organisation, serving meals to those in need, and supporting the essential services that help vulnerable Central Coast residents rebuild their lives. Through their generosity of spirit, our volunteers don’t just support our mission—they bring it to life.

Create Lasting Impact as a Coast Shelter Volunteer

Transform lives while enriching your own. Volunteering with Coast Shelter connects you directly to the heart of our community, creating meaningful change where it’s needed most.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our organisation, supporting vulnerable Central Coast residents through various pathways:

  • Serving meals and providing support at our Community Centre
  • Supporting fundraising events and community initiatives
  • Contributing specialised skills and professional expertise

Every hour you give creates ripples of positive change. Join our passionate team of volunteers and be part of a movement that’s building a stronger, more compassionate Central Coast.

Note: All volunteers require a current Working with Children Check.

Meet our Volunteer Ambassador

Michael Olivieri is a Central Coast local who is passionate about helping his fellow Coasties. It’s the reason he started his business, Central Coast Buyers Agent, and why he volunteers at Coast Shelter on a weekly basis.

Michael proudly represents Coast Shelter as the Volunteer Ambassador, a role which aims to help build awareness about the various opportunities there are in which other people and businesses can volunteer with Coast Shelter.

“I chose to support Coast Shelter as they are an amazing organisation with a bold mission ‘To end homelessness and Domestic and Family Violence on the NSW Central Coast’. I wanted to be able to give back to the community, not just through monetary donations, but also to volunteer my time. Volunteering is such a fulfilling experience and allows me the opportunity to contribute to something much bigger than myself. In seeking further ways to get involved I am honoured to also be the Volunteer Ambassador for Coast Shelter.”

As Volunteer Ambassador, Michael supports our Volunteers and helps foster a sense of community and shared purpose by communicating Coast Shelter’s mission throughout the Central Coast.

You will find Michael at Coast Shelter’s fundraising events, and volunteering in the Community Centre Kitchen with the hopes of inspiring other individuals to donate their time and skills to Coast Shelter.
