Coast Shelter’s recent Christmas Appeal has not only surpassed expectations but has truly highlighted the spirit of giving throughout the Central Coast community during this festive season.
As we all know, the holiday season is a time for joy, love, and generosity. It’s a time when communities come together to support those in need, and Coast Shelter has done just that – and more. This year’s Christmas Appeal has been nothing short of extraordinary, raising over $43,000 and providing more than 500 food hampers and hundreds, if not thousands of toys and gifts to individuals and families facing hardship.
The heart and soul of Coast Shelter’s Christmas Appeal lie in its ability to bring people together for a common cause – to spread joy and alleviate the struggles that some members of our community face. The generosity of donors, supporters, and volunteers has been nothing short of inspiring.
The $43,000 raised will go towards supporting Coast Shelter’s ongoing efforts to provide shelter, food, and essential services to those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness and/or domestic and family violence. It’s a testament to the kindness and compassion that exists within our community, proving that when we unite, we can make a real difference in the lives of others.
The generosity of the community saw over 500 Food Hampers created and given to our clients across our two community centres, nine refuges, transitional properties and our outreach clients. Abundant with festive goodies, essentials and even decorations to brighten up their space, these hampers have been curated to ensure that families in need can enjoy a festive meal and experience the warmth of the season.
As we reflect on the success of Coast Shelter’s Christmas Appeal, let’s also take a moment to acknowledge the ripple effect it creates. Acts of kindness have a way of inspiring more kindness, creating a cycle that strengthens the bonds within our community.
Coast Shelter wishes to thank everyone involved in making this Christmas Appeal a resounding success including our staff, volunteers, local community and corporate partners. We wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year period.
