Love Bites High School Educational Program
Love Bites is a well established respectful relationship program that has been facilitated in schools across Australia since 2004. The program consists of two interactive education workshops on Relationship Violence and Sex and Relationships, including topics such as rights and responsibilities, consent and active bystanding. These workshops are followed by a creative session which allows students to reflect on the information from the day and to share these messages with their community through an artwork or other creative piece.
Love Bites Central Coast acknowledges the continual support received from NAPCAN (National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) who are the owners and authors of the Love Bites program
On the Central Coast, Love Bites has been operating since 2008. In 2016, Coast Shelter and the Central Coast Love Bites Steering Committee have actively worked to expand the footprint of Love Bites on the Central Coast. On the Central Coast we have 79 facilitators whom we trained in the most recent package of Love Bites which was rolled out in February 2016. The facilitators are workers from organisations including Government and non-Government services. These facilitators have all attended a two day training session delivered by the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN). 2008
