WE ARE STILL HERE – WE ARE STILL WORKING
The team at Coast Shelter, like everyone in our community, are responding to the spread of the COVID-19 virus and working hard to adopt the measures that keep our people, and those in need safe.
Our services won’t stop. Our commitment to helping those in domestic and family violence crisis won’t stop. Our engagement with the local community who support us won’t stop. Our focus on ending homelessness won’t stop.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Australia approximately 550 women, children, young people and men in crisis have been safe under a Coast Shelter roof. During the same time, we served about 900 meals for the homeless and those in our accommodations from our Community Centre kitchen. Our Clothes Washing and No Interest Loans Scheme is continuing on a limited basis.
We are still here – we are still working. 366 days this year, 24 hours a day – we won’t stop.
